Walking Together: Investing in Folklife in Communities of Color

Walking Together: Investing in Folklife in Communities of Color supports folklife and traditional arts rooted in communities by investing in artists/practitioners and the community organizations that care for them. It is a national funding program managed by the six U.S. regional arts organizations (RAOs).

Southern Arts Relief & Recovery Fund

The Southern Arts Relief & Recovery Fund provides $500 relief stipends to artists residing in the FEMA disaster areas of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia who have been impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Cultural Sustainability

Open to arts nonprofit organizations, fiscally sponsored groups, private entities, and state/federally recognized tribes, the Cultural Sustainability program offers general operating funds to organizations rooted in communities of color.

Operating Grants for Arts Organizations

Express Grants

Open to organizations in rural communities of 50,000 people or less, the Express Grant program offers expedited awards of up to $3,000 supporting the presentation of touring artists.

Artists, apply for up to $2,000 to take advantage of a milestone opportunity in your career.

In These Mountains Project Grants

Grants of $10,000 for organizations to conduct projects that promote the sharing, teaching, learning, preserving, and documenting folk arts and traditional culture of Central Appalachia.

Traditional Arts Touring Grants

These funds support projects engaging a traditional artist/ensemble for multi-day residencies in Southern communities with awards of up to $5,000.

Presentation Grants

Grants up to $9,500 for organizations to present a Southern artist for a performing arts, literary arts, visual arts, or film engagement.

ArtsHERE

Through grants and peer learning opportunities, ArtsHERE invests in organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to equity within their practices and programming, with the goal of increasing arts participation for underserved groups/communities, and sharing insights that may inform similar funding programs in the future.
