Arts-based Recovery Program
The Hands Healing HeArts (HHH) project, in partnership with Franklin County Drug Court, uses a variety of hands-on, multi-disciplinary artistic approaches with women in Drug Court to support their recovery. In weekly, court-mandated meetings led by our artists, each woman is introduced to a variety of methods (writing, drama, music, sculpture and visual arts) by which she can explore her life experiences and struggles, as well as new strategies to support her recovery, helping her move toward a healthier lifestyle.
“Yes Arts” is an out-of-school time community arts program for children of Franklin Co. Drug Court participants and students in the Frankfort Independent School (FIS) District. Yes Arts partners with local teaching artists and arts organizations to coordinate high-quality arts classes and camps, advertises these opportunities to Franklin Co. Drug Court and FIS families, and administers a scholarship fund to ensure accessibility of programs. Yes Arts also provides professional development, particularly in trauma-informed instruction, for participating artists. Yes Arts exists for the youth in our community, to support their healthy development and provide alternatives to substance use and abuse. Learn more about why Yes Arts exists.
