Celebrating Jazz Fusion of Mahavishnu & Shakti
Featuring original music composed and inspired by the works of John McLaughlin, while revisiting music selections from legendary Mahavishnu, Miles, and Shakti albums of the 1970s and “beyond,” this group re-envisions McLaughlin’s masterpieces and celebrates his vibrant solo and ensemble work.
The group features Premik Russell Tubbs - woodwinds (original member of Mahavishnu Orchestra album “Visions of the Emerald Beyond”), Rez Abassi - guitar, Vin Scialla - drums/percussion, Neel Murgai - sitar, Joe Deninzon - violin, Dan Asher - bass, (and special guest Swami Selvaganesh - kanjira). Their debut album will be released this year.
