I Was Here, Inc.

I Was Here acknowledges the fundamental role enslaved Africans played in building America and empowers the descendants whose ancestors were key to the bedrock of our country. This is accomplished through a synthesis of art, voice, and technology that transforms public space to deepen and reshape our understanding of the concept of Nation Building. I Was Here invites reflection on identity, citizenship, and belonging, enriching the emotional intelligence of the community and fostering empathy across lines of race, age, and backgrounds.
