Graham Webb

Graham Webb is a woodworker and chairmaker from Asheville, North Carolina. His focus is on Appalachian style ladderback chairs, starting with green wood that is split and shaved with hand tools. He uses steam to bend wood into its final shape, and the seats of his chairs are woven using materials like wood splints and hickory bark. He is inspired by the living properties of wood, and how ladderback chairmaking is rooted to Appalachian history and the environment we live in.
