Artist Statement

This project uses Afro-Pessimism, Afrofuturism, and queer theory to reimagine the lives of queer Black people through mystical and extraterrestrial narratives. Across two manuscripts, it explores supernatural resilience against white supremacy—following Southern Black trans-femmes in The Weeping Women and a family ruptured by Jim Crow–era violence in Kingdom Come.
