Dion Kerr is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and conceptual artist born and raised in Delray Beach, FL, who lived and worked in New York City, where he built his name. A dynamic presence in contemporary music, he has shared the stage with artists such as Ignacio Berroa and Marcus Strickland’s Twi-Life, following multiple European tours and festivals. His groundbreaking albums, including the latest release, eko vizion meusik, blend jazz, avant-garde, classical nylon guitar, and ambient textures and field recordings influenced by South Florida’s music scene. As a lead engineer and producer for Seafoam Walls' last two albums, he supported Unknown Mortal Orchestra on tour and co-wrote/arranged The Smoogies' extensive discography. His performances have led him to stages such as The Blue Note (NYC), Ronnie Scott’s (London), and Casa Del Jazz (Italy). Dion has collaborated on music with Grammy-nominated labels such as CAM Jazz (Rome) and Ecstatic Peace Library (UK). His film work includes scoring You Can Always Come Home, which won the First Place Knight Made in MIA Film Award. He has been awarded for his projects, albums, and artistry, with scores that have been featured at the Miami Film Festival, SXSW, and the New Orleans Film Festival. He is currently a faculty member at The New School and has been featured in Bass Player Magazine, Jazzwise, Pitchfork, and Delray Magazine. Dion endorses Benevolent Bass basses, Fender guitars, and Marino Custom Cables.
Artist Fee: $300-600 for single night bookings as a sideman/bassist or solo bass performance, $1,500-3,000 booking for my trio led original project
