Artist Statement
This Creation and Research Project aims to expand my existing work of historical fiction on the early 20th Century rural Georgia fortune teller, Mayhayley Lancaster, into a full-length novel through extended research, creative writing workshops, peer critique, and interviews, to create a literary work that engages new audiences on life in the Post Civil War/ Pre- Civil Rights movement in the south.
