Purpose through Poetry – Westarea & Baldwin Elementary Residency and Poetry Slam” is a 7-session poetry residency delivered in Westarea Elementary and Baldwin Elementary in Cumberland County, NC. Students participate in writing workshops, SEL-centered creative exercises, mentorship from award-winning poets, and performance coaching. The program concludes with a public poetry slam featuring both schools, plus publication of a student poetry anthology.
